- An FZE is a company with a single owner, which can be owned by a natural or legal person.
- No minimum capital is required.
- 100% foreign ownership is allowed.
- One director and one shareholder.

- Free Zone Company (FZC):
- FZC is a multi-owner company that can have from 2 to 5 shareholders.
- No minimum capital is required.
- 100% foreign ownership is allowed.
- One or more directors, including one CEO.
- No restrictions on the nationality of shareholders or directors.
- Branch of a Foreign Company (BFC):
- A licence is required from the source of the subsidiary.
- Possibility of 100% foreign ownership.
- A licenced company can be run by an organisation from any country.
- Branch of a Local Company (BLC):
- A Branch of a Local Company (BLC) represents an extension of a business that is formally registered within the United Arab Emirates.
- A licence is required from the source of the subsidiary.
- Possibility of 100% foreign ownership.
- A company with a licence can be managed by an organisation from any emirate.
